Foil Stamping and Embossing

Foil Stamping and Embossing add an elegance to your piece that is unmatched by other techniques. It will bring your project to life when light is reflected on it and it is one of our most popular finishes used by our clients.

Hot Foil Stamping
Hot foil stamping is a process that applies foil onto a surface using a heated die. When applied, it  leaves the foil permanently adhered. Embossing can be combined with foil to give more dimension to a piece.

Embossing & Debossing
Embossing and debossing are the processes of creating raised or recessed images and designs in paper and other materials. An embossed image is raised against the background, while a debossed pattern is sunken into the surface of the material. Embossing can be combined with foil to give more dimension to a piece.

What Can be Stamped or Embossed?

At W. L. Smith and Associates, we work with you to get the effect that you are looking for. We work with all types of papers, vinyl products such as  zippered funeral pouches and fabrics such as our velvet urn bags. We have applied this finish to paper stationary, memorial book covers and interior pages, velvet bags, thank you and memorial cards as well as invitations. See below for samples of our work.
